Birth Thomas Hare was found in the 1850 and 1860 U.S. Censuses. [Tarentum Times, vol.1, No.9, 187 (1977) and vol.5, No.7, 131 (1989)] His age in 1850 was listed as 62 and in 1860 as 70 yrs. Prospect Cemetery records indicated that Thomas was 77 years old when he died and that he was born in Monaghan, Ireland.
Death Death date, burial date and death place were found in the Prospect Cemetery Association records, Tarentum, PA. Thomas was re-interred in Prospect Cemetery, Brackenridge, PA on 24 Feb 1865. Cause of death was enysiplas.
Buried in Prospect Cemetery, Lot #6, Section "C".
Communication verbal with Albert T. Gainor--Thomas Hare came from Ireland to United States in 1845 with Robert Hare. This story may be found in Tarentum Historical and Genealogical Society's report.

1860 Thomas Hare was enumrated with the Samuel Black family of Tarentum, PA. He was 70 years old and his trade was given as a weaver. Thomas was born in Ireland and the value of real estate owned was $2000. [PA Roll 1062, Page 490, Family 378]
Will In the name of God, Amen. I, Thomas Hare, of the Borough of Tarentum, Allegheny County and state of Pennsylvania, being weak in body and of sound mind and memory and understanding, but considering the uncertainty of this transitory life, do make this my last will and testament in manner following to wit it is my will, and I order that my just debts and funeral expenses and charges of proving my this last will be in the first place fully paid and satisfied, and after payment thereof and every part thereof I give and bequeath to my son, Jeremiah, all of Real Estate in the Borough of Tarentum with all of my personal property and the undivided half of the Island opposite the Borough of Tarentum, lying in Westmoreland County. I give and bequeath unto my Daughter, Mariah, the sum of One hundred dollars to be paid to my daughter, Maria, by my son, Jeremiah, in one year after my lawful debts are paid. I give and bequeath to my son, John, the sum of thirty Dollars if he should come back to Tarentum, to be paid by my son, Jeremiah. I give and bequeath to my son, Alexander, the sum of five Dollars to be paid by my son, Jeremiah. And I do hereby nominate, constitute, and appoint my son, Jeremiah Hare, my Executor of this my will, hereby revoking and making void all former and other wills by me at any time heretofore made and declare this only to be my last will and testament. In witness whereof I the said testator have to this, my last will and testament, set my hand and seal the twenty-fifth day of August A.D. 1860.
