George K. Tillman Family in 1850 Census

George K. Tillman

George K. Tillman, the son of Haden Tillman, was born on October 5, 1802 in Georgia (1). He was the great grandfather of Elmer Tillman (George-John -Oscar-Elmer). It is believed he moved with his parents to Claiborne County, Mississippi and then later settled in Copiah County, Mississippi. He married Sarah Hollingsworth, born June 18, 1805. George and Sarah had at least nine children: Melissa A., Joel M., James A., Narcissus A., Raymond L., Isaac L., Pernicy M., George L., and John Francis Haden, who was Elmer Tillman's grandfather. (1), (2) George is listed in the 1850 census as being a planter.

New:  5/26/01- Hollingsworth surname just identified as Sarah's last name. See the Hollingsworth site where I found it. And here is the main page which has links to many other sites which I have not checked into yet. This line is traced back further; however some is not documented yet.
